Dr. Hanna at IU has recommended surveillance (repeated CT scans with no upfront chemotherapy). This carries a 70% chance of recurrence followed by a more intensive chemotherapy regimen, but helps ensure that the cancer isn’t under or over treated.
The pathology report indicated an embryonal carcinoma with vascular invasion. This means I will likely need some chemotherapy.
I’m happy to report that the surgery went very well today and they got the right one!
The CT scan did not show any visible spread of the cancer. This significantly improves the outlook.
Testicular cancer is the leading cancer affecting 18-35 year olds.
