I had my first follow up CT scan a few weeks ago.  It didn’t show any evidence of cancer.

After some wrangling with the insurance company regarding the timing of my first follow up CT scan, I was happy to have it done on time and to get good results.  The CT scan did not show any abdominal lymph nodes sufficiently large to prompt concern.

With a clean CT scan I’m on track for CT scans every 6 months for at least the first two years to confirm that the cancer hasn’t spread.  After the two year period (or whatever time frame the oncologist recommends) the CT scans will be spread out over a greater time period.  Eventually, the odds of recurrence are low enough that I will only need annual chest X-Rays.
